It's Halloween! As a reminder - students CAN wear costumes... but:
- No masks
- No weapons/accessories
- Students must be able to sit/move easily in their costume
- Please do not send in candy/treats to share with the class

SUNDAY:

It's the registration deadline for HARVEST CUP (Tournament of Champions - Soccer). Learn more about this fun opportunity for 3rd- 5th graders by visiting our Tournament Page!
It's DINO DASH Day!
- This event is put on by Tustin Public Schools Foundation - and $10 from each HCE student/family registration goes RIGHT BACK TO HCE! Just make sure to write in Hicks Canyon Elementary when you REGISTER!
- On event morning - meet us at 8:30 AM in front of Dick's Sporting Goods for a big HCE team photo! (The 2k event starts at 9 AM. 5K runners start at 8 AM... so just run SUPER fast to meet us!) :)

ONGOING:

The Tustin Community Foundation is hosting their annual PAJAMA Drive - collecting NEW pajamas (adult, teen, child and baby) to be distributed to those in need in our community! Bring your pajamas in to the collection box in the front office no later than November 22nd!

Officer Gramer Campus Safety Chat

Our next PTO meeting is November 8th at 10 AM. We'll be welcoming Irvine Police Department Officer Gramer who will join us to discuss topics regarding Campus Safety - including come Q&A time! Please note that due to the nature of this talk, we will NOT be able to offer zoom for this meeting - it will be in person only (Small Multipurpose Room).

Volley Fest

Our 5th Grade Volley Fest team had an incredible weekend - with a matchup vs. Portola Springs on Saturday... and then a 3-game nail-biter Sunday afternoon vs. Alderwood! The final score of game 3 put Alderwood on top 15-13... but it's worth it to note our Hicks ladies played against a mixed 5th/6th grade team - making their performance all the more incredible!
We're so proud of the Volley Fest team (and coaches!) - go HUSKIES!!

Robotics Competition

What a weekend at the TUSD Robotics Competition! We had 5 teams representing Hicks - and brought home more than a little hardware! The Tech Girls took home the Amaze Award, while the United Paws clinched the Excellence Award and won the Skills Competition - and were finalists in the Team Work competition! Incredible!
