These quarterly events are hosted by the PTO as a reward for students earning "Husky Points" in PBIS! Students can use their points to join for a special pizza lunch with Mr. Drake and Mrs. Vela... BINGO and of course... PRIZES!

An incredible day at the TUSD Robotics Competition - where all 5 HCE teams absolutely shined! 

Team A earned the Teamwork Award (2nd time in a row!) and Skills Champion Award! Team B scored the Excellence Award and 2nd place in teamwork challenge! Team E took home the Design Award - with all 3 of these teams qualifying for State!  Team C took 4th overall and Team D earned 7th in Skills! Just an AMAZING showing from our Hicks engineers!

December 3rd marked the culmination of an 11-week program partnering with Irvine Police Department for our 5th graders. DARE officers work in partnership with the community to encourage kids to make positive (and drug-free) choices. At last week's graduation, each child made a pledge in front of the room on a commitment they are making to themselves to make positive choices in order to grow up healthy and well. They celebrated with a visit from Officers Mendoza and Gramer - and the Irvine PD Cybertruck!

More than 75 Huskies took to the stage in the PTO's production of Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr!
After weeks of practice, students in 2 separate casts put on 4 amazing performances over the weekend. The singing, dancing and acting left audiences literally cheering for more - not to mention the elaborate set design transforming the MPR into an underwater wonderland! 

Thank you to all the parent volunteers who made it happen, with very special thanks to our dedicated Musical Theater Committee and Mrs. Policare - who truly made us feel part of their world!!
