• It's the 100th day of School (and 1,000th day for our 5th graders!) Congrats to all for this milestone! 

Tuesday - Friday:

• Team Kids Coin Drive to benefit the Red Cross and Fire Relief! See more details about Team Kids and the Coin Drive below!  

Wednesday: 

• Art Masters! While students are in the Assembly learning about our next artist (Alexander Calder)... our PARENT volunteers will be in their training! Extra credit: Wow your student with a little "Oh, yeah, I know all about Alexander Calder" when they get home Wednesday!

Thursday: 

• ELAC Meeting: 3-4 PM in the Small Multipurpose Room

Friday: 

• PBIS Pizza Party: These quarterly parties are hosted by the PTO as a reward for students earning "Husky Points" in PBIS! Students can use their points to join for a special pizza lunch with Mr. Drake and Mrs. Vela... BINGO and of course... PRIZES!  Brought to you by the PTO! 
  
  
• Dress-Alike Day! Find a friend (or a few!) to coordinate clothes for this Student-Council Hosted Spirit Day! 

Saturday: 

• There are just a few spots left in the TPSF Pickleball Tournament (spectator seats available too). Rumor has it that a few HCE teachers will be playing - game on!
  
  
• TUSD Robotics Competition (TUSD Extravaganza!): Orchard Hills School
  Our Husky teams will be competing against other Robotics teams from the district! Opening ceremonies start at 9 AM and then matches continue through roughly 3:30 PM - with awards immediately following. Heads up for spectators: This event also has a High School division-- pretty cool to see! And there's a lunch break from 12-12:30 - so no matches to see then!

Sunday:

• Registration for Tournament of Champions: Hoops Classic (Basketball) CLOSES!Get all the details. 

 Sometime this week: 

• Take a few moments to complete the PBIS Parent Survey. It takes less than 5 minutes, but really helps the school gain insight into the program - to see what's working well and where improvements can be made! As a PTO - we love to see how HCE Teachers and Staff welcome family input - and this is a great way for everyone to have a voice!
  
  
• Check out the Board and Committee opportunities on our PTO! If you've ever thought about getting involved - we'd love to have you!

Saturday was the Tournament of Champions: Winter Bowl (Flag Football), where 4 of our Husky teams took on teams from other Irvine and Tustin schools competing for the championship!

Our 3rd grade boys had a no-score tie with Portola Springs, before ultimately falling to Woodbury in game 2, despite some impressive touchdowns! 

The 5th grade boys also had a no-score tie to start the day vs. Tustin Memorial - and then into an absolute nail-biter, besting Brywood 21-20! 

Our 3rd/4th grade girls fought hard in close games vs Cadence Park and Alderwood - showing off some incredible plays! 

And our 5th grade girls (playing against some 6th graders too!) came back from a loss vs. Stone Creek to DOMINATE in a 33-0 game vs Woodbury!

Huge thanks to our amazing Coaches: Coach Lay, Coach Han, Coach Glos and Coach Long!

As a reminder: It's NEVER too late to join the PTO. Start the year off right by supporting the PTO and all of the programs that benefit your student! The PTO is a 501c3... donations are tax-deductible - and still qualify for incentives!

Save ALL of those receipts from EVERY store AND service in the Marketplace! Turn them in to the front office - or enter them online!*

*If you enter them online yourself, please DON'T also turn them in... we don't want to double-enter! 

Here's a few things you might have forgotten that count toward Earn & Learn: 

• The 4 trips you took to Home Depot to finish that one small project (come on, it's not just me)
• The "so much for Dry January" bottles you picked up at Total Wine
• Your Orangetheory Fitness membership (screenshot your monthly charge - that counts!) 

Yup- it's truly EVERY store/service in the Marketplace - save those receipts and pass 'em over! We're aiming to the be the TOP school in TUSD - let's win that $3,500!
